We are having the same problem.  We just upgraded to 7.09 last week and it still doesn't work.

Open the current layout in the Layout Editor. Begin editing. Select the Date and Time Overlay (DTO) Block. In the left lower corner of the editor look at the Floating Time section. There are two drop down lists. Make sure Date Format is not selected as "Exclude date from block, or..." and Time format  as "Exclude time from block, or..." respectively. Select a color that will be visible against the background and appropriate Text Height. Save the changes. This should work.

It seems to be working now.  I had already done what you mentioned but each time I was editing a layout that came over from before the upgrade.  Earlier today I tried creating a brand new layout and it is displaying now.  Before it would show up for about 20 seconds and then disappear.  But now I have a new problem...the alignment is strange for the date and time.  I have the date justified on the left and the time justified on the right.  The horizontal location is correct on the diplay but the vertical alignment is off.  The date is "floating" about 10-20 pixels closer to the top than the time.  I have no idea how to fix this.  Here is what it looks like:

    July 14
                                                              2:34 PM
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    instead of

    July 14                                               2:34 PM
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

     Thanks for the help!

I was able to reproduce the results myself. A fix will be offered soon.

What type of content is playing in the content block below the floating datetime block?
If you play flash content, it will hide the datetime block.

Has anyone figured out how to get the floating date and time to work with 7.0.9 yet. I currently have that version in the testing phase and i am unable to get any time or date to display yet. My layout preview shows it is supposed to be there yet i am still not seeing it.

Re: Why wont my clock work

With Javiers' help i kinda solved my own problem. When creating my first clock i had left the default font selected and i'm guessing that font wasn't compatible. As soon as i switched it to Arial it worked fine. Thanks to Javier from Visix for the tip.
