Extended Widescreen Support Option (AXIS-TV-GC1) performance

We have a couple of channel players with the Matrox based extended widescreen support option.  Our displays are NEC and we'd like to run them at the native 1920x1080 but we're not really impressed with transitions (wipes, mostly).  I suspect it's the limited 64MB of video RAM on the P650 card, and I'm wondering if there is a better performance option.  Thanks in advance for all replies!

    Hi HellerMD98,

The Matrox P650 card is capable of doing 1920x1080 with a refresh rate of 60Hz. What do you mean by "Not really impressed" with transition?

    Thx.

Thanks for your reply Joel! We are using wipes mostly, but they are slow, and it seems like there slight pauses/hesistations during the redraw.  The CPU isn't doing anything but running the channel player sw and we've increased RAM to 2.5GB. Any ideas?  Thanks!

Hmm....that sounds like hardware limitation. The 64MB video RAM might be a cause of the issue or the motherboard might also be a problem. We have changed motherboards 2 or 3 times so far. What is the Serial number of that box? That might help determining the type of motherboard that unit is using. Also you said you are mostly using Wipes....Have you tried other transitions? Are they behaving the same way?

    Thx.

Hi again Joel.  We tried some other transitions as you suggested with mixed results.   Squares/Circles out don't work (graphics dither) but Squares/Circles in do work.  The final slide doesn't transition to the first slide but just switches.  Spin/Spokes are okay, but wipes are still slow.  Interestingly, some fonts are nice and smooth curves where as others are dithered.  We did submit a ticket as you suggested for our other forum post.  Our CP is ES121111.  Thanks for your help and support!
