Click on the Downloads button above.  Under Technical Documents there is a manual to tell you how to use it.  Also from the downloads page click on AxisTV training modules, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you can see lots of training files, just look for the layouts or layout editor.

I've watched "configure, channel players, layouts part 1 and 2" it ends with "click save" but that doesn't publish to the channel player.

I know I'm missing something. what comes next to get my design to appear on the channel player ?

If you are using the layout editor outside the web interface you need to close that and log in to your web interface.  Go to configure, channel players, Layouts.  If you were using the layout editor in the web interface you need to scroll to the right side of the page, there is a close button that is not visible unless you scroll over sometimes depending on what screen resolution you have.  Then select the channel player you want to publish the layout to, then select the layout you have created and then on the far right there is a button that says apply to player, click it.  In the layout dropdown box it should now list your playlist name and after it say (Currently Applied).  Next click on the hardware button in the configuration menu tree on the left side, check off the channel player you are changing the playlist on and click the refresh button.  Let the site do its thing and it will give you a confirmation message if it refreshed or an error if not.  Depending on your network speed it should update the channel player layout in a minute or so.

it's still not working for me

I've seen the online video, read the "new enhancements v7" and still I'm missing something.

using the layout editor I assign the content blocks and floating time I want, click save and refresh but nothing changes on my TV screen ?

I know I must be missing a step but I'm at a loss any help ?

After you click save you need to select the playlist from the menu and then on the far right there is a button that says Apply to Player, you need to click do that before refreshing the player.

     so as I read it

assign blocks using the display editor and save

then on the web site where it says "create manage deliver" on the top

go to configure/channel players/layout and select the player from the drop down list click on "apply" to player

then go to hardware select channel play and refresh

if that's the case nothing is happening (

Yes but when you select the player from the dropdown list after that directly under the player dropdown is the playlist dropdown for that player, select the playlist you want to change to and click apply.  Sometimes depending on your network speed and amount of content it can take a couple of minutes before displaying.  If after say 10 minutes its still not changed try changing that player to a different playlist that has like 2 bulletins in it and see if that changes, if not you definitly have a problem then and need to call support.

     No Problem,

I'd make sure you are communicating with your channel player, you can test this by going to the hardware menu where the refresh button is and instead of clicking refresh, select your player and then click restart, your player should restart within a minute or two, if not thats why you got the error.  If it does restart I would try to reboot your server and try it again and if it still fails then you'd have to call support.

I don't have "restart" is do have refresh, reboot and republish.

I've tried them all and no change in the layout. updates to playlists occur but layout changes do not

    Re: layout editor help ?

sorry its reboot, select the player you are trying to change and click reboot.  Your player should the automatically restart itself.  If it does not than that is your problem, your server cannot communicate with the player.

refresh, reboot, republish have no effect on the layout, could it be that I need to update my channel player software ?

Indy- I'm going to take a quick stab at the your problem here, it looks like JDiller has gone through all the technical stuff with you so i'm just going to ask a dumb question because i've done this myself a few times. How are you viewing the display while waiting for the changes? If you happen to be using remote desktop to view whats playing on that channel player it will never update. I've made that mistake several times myself then wanted to kick myself after i realized what i was doing.
