    Squiggly video window.

I'm working with a player with an s-vid cable feed that appears to misconfigure itself after a reboot. If the system is restarted, the video window will only fill roughly 2/3 of the window it normally fills, and appears squiggly as if the video sync was lost. In the video window settings the image is still tweaked but can be fixed by selecting either SECAM or PAL, then flipping back to NTSC. This "fix" doesn't necessarily keep on the first try, but it will eventually after a few iterations and an occasional Cntl-Alt-Del.

I swapped the video card with one from another unit with the same results, and I've tested the feed into other display sources without issue. I've scoured the registry and as many config files as I could find for the Hauppauge video card, for the Overlay app, and for AxisTV (ver 6.4) but found no setting that would indicate the card loses formatting when power cycled. Please tell me I've overlooked something very, very simple...

Thank you in advance folks @ Visix, and enjoy your day!

I don't have any suggestions for you but am interested in what you find out.  We had the same problem with some of our players reverting back to a different screen resolution after reboot.  It only seemed to happen on our rack mount models and not the mini players.  We don't have the video window option, this was happening just with the normal playlist layout.  Something else we discovered is that sometimes the video cards will support higher resolutions than they say they will.  We have one that has been running at 1366 x 768 for some time with no problems even though that isn't on the list.  We had another user who was doing the same but he kept having problems after the weekly reboot.  He went back to 1280 x 768 and had no problems from then on.  Weird?  -cassidy

    Re: Squiggly video window.

    Niles,

The first thing I would recommend is to verify that all the settings are correct for that Channel Player in the Layout Editor. Make sure the Video Feed Source is S-Video and that the VFO has a 4x3 window that doesn't exceed 800x600 pixels. It is also recommended not to play uploaded videos in the Playlist behind the VFO. Setting the VFO for a non 4x3 could result in distortion or it may not open. If all that appears to be set correctly, then the drivers for the Hauppauge card may need to be reloaded on that Channel Player. Open a support request at http://visix.com/support/tech/index.htm#request or call 1-800-572-4935 and one of our techs will assist you to do that. Thanks,

We also have same problem as Niles.  We're running 7.0.14 and our VWO window is set to 640x480 on our ImpactVCB card using s-video as our source..  Is there an easy solution to this problem?

    Thanks in advance!
